CHEECA LODGE & SPA HOTEL REVIEW
/This year, Jon and I decided to vacation in the Florida Keys. The thing that is so great about The Keys is there are so many destinations. The first stop on our trip was The Cheeca Lodge & Spa!
Safe to say, this was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever had the opportunity to stay at. As you drive in the entrance to the resort, there are lush palm trees and tropical plants surrounding the road. It makes you feel as though you have escaped to a remote tropical island (sure doesn’t feel like typical Florida!).
Cheeca Lodge & Spa is located on the island of Islamorada (same island Bloodline was filmed on!). Islamorada is one of the earlier Keys, only a 20 mile drive from Key Largo. It’s a little over and hour and half drive from the Miami airport.
We only had enough time to stay at Cheeca for one night, but I can 100% say that I will be returning to this beautiful resort for a longer stay! One of the things Jon and I both loved about Cheeca was the amount of activities to do! We arrived pretty early in the day so our room wasn’t ready for us yet. We threw on some workout gear, tossed a bathing suit in our bag, and went and played a round of tennis! The resort has 4 tennis courts and free rackets and balls! About half an hour in we called it a game because we couldn’t handle the heat!
I have to say, the food at Cheeca was truly incredible. I feel like hotels can be hit or miss with the food, Cheeca is definitely a hit! All of our meals were amazing. I even tried FISH! Anyone who knows me knows I hate seafood… I tired the Yellow Tail and I actually didn’t mind it. You know the chef is pretty amazing when he can make even me like fish!
Over all, the hotel was stunning. We had the opportunity to stay in one of the rooms with a hot tub on the balcony, and let me just tell ya, it was something out a dream. One, it was the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in, and two, it had a HOT TUB on the balcony. I don’t think you can get more luxury than that!
The property has two pools, multiple restaurants, a tiki bar, tennis courts, water sports, meeting and event spaces, a 9 hole golf course, a full spa and so much more. There are endless options of things to do a this resort! It would be impossible to get bored! Make sure you keep an eye on their website because they are actually opening a 3rd pool and second tiki hut soon! We were able to see the construction of the pool and it will be an infinity pool that looks right over the ocean! I can’t wait to get back there when it’s finished!
